… made easier with Chanel, Palazzo Versace and quality family time!
When you celebrate the way I did, I wish I could turn 30 every day! Now, I’m not one for surprises (in fact, I HATE surprises #controlfreak) but this year Josh and I decided we would both plan each other’s milestone birthdays (mine in January, Josh in March).
I’d decided a while ago that I would like a new handbag for my birthday and, after many, many months of research, window shopping, second guessing and general deliberation, I decided that I would like to take the plunge and purchase a Chanel handbag.
I had (and still do!) always wanted the classic, quilted Chanel handbag however I discovered the straps don’t allow for cross-body access and, with a toddler in tow and another one on the way, this Mumma needed both hands to function on a daily basis so I decided the Wallet on Chain would work for all occasions and scenarios.
After a few months of “waiting list” waiting, I got the call in early January to say my handbag had arrived and one of the proudest/ coolest moments of my life was walking out of that shop with my very own Chanel. Major “bucket list” tick!
On Wednesday 24th, a few days before the long weekend and my actual birthday (29th), Josh came clean on his EPIC holiday surprise plan… a weekend away at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast! I won’t go into too much soppy detail, but his delivery was everything: a scavenger hunt which started with a note in my mailbox; leading me to a note in our wedding album; directing me to a note in the nursery; which finished with a note in my office. All referencing the amazing achievements I had accomplished in my thirty years. You did good Josh, you did good!
To top it off, I was then told my family would be joining our stay-cation for a birthday lunch and pool hangs. My ‘perfect’ holiday scenario – luxury accommodation, glamorous dinner settings and extra babysitters!
The weekend was an extravagant display of food (hello $8 coffees!), champagne (mocktails for me), pampering, poolside cabana hangs, relaxing and memory-making and I couldn’t have wished for a better birthday weekend if I tried.
Despite the lack of sleep (Oscar suffered from major FOMO and we spent most nights bed-swapping in an effort to get him to sleep!), I came home feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and inspired to earn many more Palazzo trips and Chanel handbags!
Perhaps I should let Josh plan my birthday EVERY year!?
P.S. stay tuned for my next blog which will feature my Birthday/ Summer Sales haul x
